Best Budget Graphics Card Under $100 | GPUs | 2020

Best Budget Graphics Card under $200 | 2020 | Old & New

I was able to find five GPUs that I think represent excellent value right now then we’ll move on to use where I was able to find four different GPUs that I believe offer relatively good value still to this day.

All right so starting with new GPUs in order from highest performance to lowest performance as according to Hardware unboxed numbers at 1080p now once I’ve gone through all five of these cards I will go ahead and choose what I think is the best purchase that you could make for under $200 of course if your budget can allow it.

Best Budget Used Graphics Card under $200?

Brand New Cards

RX 5500 XT Graphics Card

RX 5500 XT OC

First, we have the RX 5500 XT for gigabyte now this card came out not that long ago and initially it was disappointing in comparison to the cards available however there has been a slight price reduction since then. Now it can be had on Newegg for a hundred and eighty dollars when looking at 1080p performance this comes in at 88 frames per second which is pretty good on Ultra settings according to hardware on box numbers of 12 games tested.

GTX 1660 Graphics Card

GTX 1660

Next up we have the GTX 1660 which surprisingly is still available now it can be had for quite a bit cheaper on Newegg at a hundred and ninety dollars, and it does have a pretty good performance of 80 frames per second at 1080p Ultra settings.

RX 580 Graphics Card

RX 580

next, we have the RX 580 gigabytes yes that’s right Polaris is still around in kicking, and it’s still pretty damn good right now it can be had on Newegg for as little as a hundred and sixty dollars, and it does give a pretty good framer at 1080p Ultra settings of 74 frames per second.

GTX 1650 Super Graphics Card

GTX 1650 Super

Next up we have the pretty new gtx 1650 super which comes in at a pretty reasonable price of a hundred and sixty dollars just the same as the RX 588 gigabyte, of course, the RX 580 has more VRAM and surprisingly according to hardware unboxed at 1080p ultra settings it did score one frame per second more than the 1650 super. However, you do have to take into account that 1650 super uses up quite a bit less power so getting one frame per second less that’s not too bad for the same price it is hard to choose between these two.

RX 570 Graphics Card

RX 570

Finally, we have the old RX 570 gigabyte yep this one’s still around and kicking as well and can be had for as little as a hundred and twenty dollars on new egg and gives you 62 frames per second on 1080p Ultra settings.

Why I Pick These Graphics Card?

Now looking at this list of 5 video cards I chose them because of course they represent really good price to performance in comparison to their competitors now if I had to choose one of these it’s a hard choice but I think I’d have to go with the RX 5500 XT with a caveat that caveat being that the RX 5000 series is still experiencing some black screen issues so if you’re not willing to put up with that sort of a gamble whatsoever I think my second choice would have to go to the 1650 Super they are slightly different price brackets one being one hundred and eighty dollars and the next being one hundred and sixty dollars and of course the downside to these GPUs is that they don’t have a whole lot of video memory but their performance is really great right now and their power draw is really low as well so if you’re looking for a new video card you’re not willing to look at anything used I think once again my first pick has to go the 5500 XT and if you really aren’t ready to gamble with black screens or anything like that of course the GTX 1650 super is a great card as well.

Used Cards

now moving on to the used section here I have four GPUs, and once again I’ll go through all four of them in terms of performance from highest to lowest then I’ll pick what I think the best card is under $200 personally.

Vega 56 8 Gigabyte Graphics Card

Vega 56 8 Gigabyte

irst up we have Vega 56 8 gigabyte now this card is great because you have a total of eight gigabytes of video memory a lot more than other cards in this price segment and it can be had on Newegg for just $200 now with this card I was unable to find any performance numbers to compare it necessarily to the other cards on the list but I do know that the Vega 56 and 1070 are essentially in a performance bracket of their own they seem to be from what I can gather from other tests to be around 25% faster or even up to 30 or more percent faster than say an Rx 590 or 580 so considering that for $200 the Vega 56 is an extremely good value plus that’s not to mention the fact that you could take this card and BIOS flash it power play table it and just unlock all sorts of extra performance Vega 56 has always been an overclocking dream of a card and it’s still really great to this day my only concern with this card of course is that it could have potentially been mined on so it could be that you get this card and maybe you only get a few years out of it but hey that’s what you have to deal with when you’re buying on eBay.

GTX 1070 8 Gigabyte Graphics Card

GTX 1070 8 Gigabyte

Next up we have the gtx 1070 eight gigabytes which, according to hardware inbox is around 10% slower. I believe it was 2019 now in the past it was barely any slower at all and so considering that having the lower power draw 1070 was favoured by many however nowadays I think that the Vega 56 is better. Hence, the gtx 1070 has to come in next in terms of performance and for $200 the same rice it probably doesn’t offer quite as much value, but the 1078 gigabyte is really great to this day, and for $200 it’s tough to beat.

RX 580 Graphics Card

RX 580

Next up we have the excellent ol RX 580 this card is 8 gigabytes as well so that’s a pretty big frame buffer. For only a hundred and five dollars on eBay as well now according to hardware inbox this gets around 74 frames per second at 1080p and at that frame rate it’s a great deal I mean you’re going to be hard-pressed to find something with that big of a frame buffer and can push that high of a frame rate at 1080p to this day once again my only concern with this card would be it could have been mined on the RX 5 80s were notorious for being great mining cards, so you always have to be careful about who’s selling it and what they say in the description about what they use the card for now, of course, everyone can always lie, but most people are reasonably trustworthy on eBay especially if they have an excellent rating.

RX 574 Graphics Card

RX 570

Now finally we have the RX 574 gigabytes which can be had for as little as $80 on eBay for that price it’s quite the steal. According to hardware in box 1080p ultra settings this card does get 62 frames per second so it is lower than the RX 580 however this card can be overclocked to get very close to it so for 80 bucks, it’s just a great deal.

Why I Pick These Graphics Card?

Now looking at these four options if I was to choose the best option here I think I’d have to go with the Vega 56 as long as you can find it in stock sometimes it does go a little over $200 and at that point, you’re better off getting 1070 especially considering that it has better power draw and likely was not mined on however the Vega 56 at $200 just represents a type of performance you simply can’t get anywhere else today when you compare this card to say the 5600 XT which just came out at 280 dollars the Vega 56 really isn’t that far behind and with a little bit of tweaking it can pretty much come in neck-and-neck and with that extra frame buffer it’s just a great Buy so that’s why I would have to choose the Vega 56.

But that’s just what I think, what do you think let me know. Is there anything that I missed would you change anything do you think that my pick wasn’t right to be sure to let me know.

Best Budget Graphics Card Under $100 | GPUs | 2020

Best Budget Graphics Card Under $100 | GPUs | 2020

Graphics cards are expensive from the $1,300RTX 2080 TI down to the $150 GTX 1650 these necessary pieces of hardware can be brutal on the budget and usually Haga most of the available cash. Hence, if you’re on a super tight budget and are looking for a decent value graphics card for under $100, there are plenty of options out there that will give you a great gaming experience in 2020. So let’s discuss some of these cards and go over precisely what they offer you and exactly how much of your hard-earned cash they will cost.

Okay so in terms of general performance most of the GPUs that we’re going to be discussing today are great 1080p medium settings GPUs we’re also going to be discussing a lot of older cards which although they might have some age to them the performance they offer has stood the test of time and has proven them to be great budget-focused cards.

N.B: We highly recommend you to buy used products to get an excellent deal.

GTX 780

GTX 780

All right so the first Budget Graphics Card, I’m going to be recommending today is the GTX 780 based on the fully unlocked Kepler base gk110 chip this card offers some excellent 1080p performance almost five years on from release with version practically identical to the recently released GTX 1650 this card can chew through modern gaming or clouds and all at acceptable frame rates with three gigs of gddr5 this card will also last you longer than cheaper 700 series cards and the general core configuration of this GK chip allows you to get into some very light content creation on the side for less than $80 on eBay. 1050 Ti killing performance can be yours, and although Kepler hasn’t aged as well as maxwell, it still gets the job done and will allow you to get some great FPS numbers at a great price.

AMD R9 390

AMD R9 390

The next Budget Graphics Card I’m going to be recommending can be a little more pricey than the GTX 780 but its features and general hardware specs are incredibly impressive for the prices that it can be found at the r9 390 was the AMD flagship GPU back in mid-2015. For less than $100 a very capable 1080p focused card can be yours featuring the Granada GPU along with eight gigs of gddr5 the r9 390 offers performance that competes with the more expensive RX 570 and beats out the latest entry into NVIDIA GTX lineup. However, this card can be power-hungry when considering its price point it’s hard to be in terms of modern and future values with this enormous amount of VRAM this card will last you for years to come and the general specs of the Grenada graphics core will also keep the r9 390 in contention into the 2020s once again for less than $100 this card is an incredible value, and it’s also relatively common and easy to find on second-hand sites.

AMD RX 470

AMD RX 470

The third Budget Graphics Card that you should try to keep an eye out for is the somewhat modern AMD RX 470 with the core configuration identical to the RX 570 as well as performance that edges out the GTX 1650 this $80.00 GPU performs excellently in 1080p gaming scenarios with either 8 or 4 gigs of gddr5 this card is also relatively capable of delivering 1080p gaming into the future and is also a tremendous entry-level content creation card for its price the RX 470 is a fantastic GTX 1650 substitute and the different aspects of the AMD Ellesmere chip give this older card an edge in terms of general computing. Video encoding if you’re looking for a great budget graphics card then the RX 470 is easily one of the best options available especially if you can find it at or below the $80 mark.

The fourth Budget Graphics Card that I’m going to be recommending was an incredibly popular card back in its heyday and it remains to be one of the best-selling gaming GPUs of all time the NVIDIA GTX 970 is still a very capable maxwell era card and although there was some controversy surrounding the memory configuration of it in 2019 it remains a king of value and for the hundred ish dollars that you can find one for it’s still a steal when it comes to 1080p gaming while the GM 204 chip isn’t as modern as any of the Pascal er touring offerings and Maxwell, in general, is starting to age a bit in terms of modern triple-a games the 970 still has plenty of power under the hood to push 1080p at 60fps in terms of newer budget offerings from Nvidia the GTX 970 is at the king of the pack being roughly 15% ahead of the latest GTX 1650 and over 31% forward of the last gen budget king the 1050 Ti if you’re looking for a very capable NVIDIA GPU to complete your budget rig then you couldn’t go wrong with the GTX 970.

AMD Rayzen 3 2200G

AMD Rayzen 3 2200G

Wrapping up our group of GPUs we’re gonna be closing out on something that’s a little bit out of the ordinary our choice of the AMD Rayzen 3 2200G may leave you scratching your head as the rise in line comprises of CPUs but what makes this $95 quad worship special is its integrated radeon vega 8 graphics while this budget EP you won’t be tackling 4k gaming if you’re looking to get into some eSport titles then the 2200 G is a fantastic choice and will actually save you a ton of money not only do you get a very capable quad core rise in CPU clocked at 3.5 gigahertz but you also get a competent integrated graphics solution with eight mega compute units clocked up to 1,100 megahertz this chip isn’t packing tons of graphical horsepower under the hood but it’s able to tackle 900p gaming with ease if you’re looking to get into PC gaming and want room to not only upgrade in the future but also save you some money in the year now then going with the rise in 320 200 G or even the increase in 5 2400 G would bring you a great and relatively inexpensive gaming experience that leaves the door open in the future to getting more performance.
