Dropbox released a new beta version of its macOS client with native support for the Apple Silicon platform earlier this year. All Mac users may now get the long-awaited update that includes M1 chip enhancements.
Dropbox delayed more than a year to clarify that it was working on a version of its software that would function with the M1 chip, as we previously reported. Despite this, the first fully compatible beta release for Apple Silicon Macs didn’t arrive until January 2022, three months after the report.
Dropbox for macOS version 143.4.4161 now includes support for the Apple Silicon platform, which is the foundation for the M1, M1 Pro, and M1 Max CPUs. Users will receive the update immediately, according to the business (via MacOtakara), therefore there will be no need to reinstall the software.
Dropbox runs natively on Mac machines with Apple silicon (M1), taking use of the better performance and efficiency to work smoothly on your Mac device. Users using Apple silicon devices will instantly obtain the native Dropbox app.
The M1 processor and its variations can be fully utilized by apps that run natively on Apple Silicon. This means that the program will consume less power, resulting in longer battery life for MacBook users. Microsoft also updated OneDrive with Apple Silicon support earlier last week.
